Robert J. Reynolds, M.D.
Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Bob Reynolds is a physician leader, educator, and internal medicine specialist with 18 years of clinical practice experience. In 1997, he founded PrimeDoc, a physician owned and managed company that specializes in the establishment, staffing, and management of turnkey hospitalist programs. As a leader in the development of the hospitalist industry, Dr. Reynolds and the PrimeDoc Management Services team also offers consulting services to hospitals with existing hospitalist programs in addition to full hospitalist program development and support.

One of 13 founding members of The Phoenix Group, comprised of pioneers in the hospitalist field whose goal is to improve the delivery of hospitalist medicine, Dr. Reynolds has held numerous leadership positions in his career. Those include serving a three-year term as Chief of Staff at Mission Hospitals, an 800-bed regional referral center in Asheville, North Carolina, and serving on various committees involving medical information systems, quality assurance/utilization, peer review panels, and boards of directors. In addition, Dr. Reynolds was a founding member of a 470-physician multi-specialty IPA.

He has completed several hundred credit hours of leadership training through the American College of Physician Executives in physician management, health law, medical informatics, health care finance, medical staff leadership and structure, and quality. Dr. Reynolds also has experience as Clinical Faculty at the University of Utah College of Medicine in Salt Lake City and the University of North Carolina College of Medicine in Chapel Hill.

Christopher R. Edwards, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Chris Edwards, M.D., joined PrimeDoc in 2004 to start PrimeDoc of Athens, the hospitalist practice at Athens Regional Medical Center, in Athens, Georgia. The practice has grown from four doctors to 12 and has shown great success. He is currently a member of the credentials committee and the executive committee at Athens Regional. Dr. Edwards also started PrimeDoc of Seneca, PA, in Seneca, South Carolina, which has received very positive reviews since its launch in 2006.

Before joining PrimeDoc, Dr. Edwards was a partner in Central Medical Group in Orlando, Florida for 13 years. He developed his leadership skills as the Chief of Staff and a trustee at Health Central Hospital in Orlando during that time. During his tenure in Orlando Dr. Edwards also served as Chief Resident of the Internal Medicine residency program at Orlando Regional Health Systems, was President of CEC research company and served as an Adjunct Professor of Medicine for the Florida State College of Medicine in Tallahassee.

Marvin Brauer, M.D.
Regional Director

Marvin Brauer, M.D., is a practicing hospitalist who also oversees administrative responsibilities and clinical direction for PrimeDoc hospitalist practices in North Carolina at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde and Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher, and in South Carolina at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca.

Dr. Brauer has been a hospitalist with PrimeDoc for two years, previously practicing internal medicine for 17 years in a traditional clinic. He is a member of the national honor medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha and has served on the Clinical Faculty at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He was President of the Medical Staff at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, Virginia, and also held leadership roles in the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Medical Association.

Christopher P. Noel
Vice President Staffing/Marketing

Chris Noel brings nearly a decade of experience as one of the first professional hospitalist recruiters in the country. In addition to his responsibility for physician recruiting and marketing-related efforts for all PrimeDoc affiliates, he previously held senior-level recruiting management and leadership positions with two of the largest national physician recruitment firms.

Chris is well known in the industry for his talents as a recruiter. As a member of the PrimeDoc consulting team, he is available to help existing hospitalist programs with hospitalist staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and retention. In addition, he has provided physician recruitment consulting services to a variety of hospitals, medical groups and private practices.

Chris began writing about the emerging role of hospitalists in the U.S. healthcare delivery system in 1998 and has published numerous articles since that time.

 

Kimberley A. Patrizio, RHIA
Vice President Corporate Operations

As Vice President of Corporate Operations, Kimberley Patrizio oversees administrative support of all PrimeDoc physician practices for approximately 100 physician employees. Kim’s responsibilities include CPT and ICD-9 documentation and billing audits and provider education; HIPAA; reimbursement process oversight, including payor enrollment, billing and collections, managed care contracting, chargemaster maintenance, denials management; and human resource management, including benefit administration.

She is also part of the PrimeDoc consulting team, providing financial management and human resource/program design services designed to enhance the clinical and financial performance of existing hospitalist programs.

Kim has a wealth of compliance and financial management experience, including 15+ years of experience in corporate compliance and reimbursement optimization. Previous to PrimeDoc, Kim worked closely with auditors for Medicare, performing E&M coding audit services. She has a well-rounded background from a variety of healthcare settings that include working for a post-acute provider of inpatient, outpatient, hospice and home care; and working with the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, she has done consulting for dialysis centers, physician practices, and long term care facilities.
